The Palace of the Ice Queen - SIZZLE

So when I first saw this build I didn't think that much about it. It basically looked okay but I had reservations about the whole idea. I have issues with builds that seem completely out of place in their environment on the playa, but somehow this one has won me over.

The Palace of The Ice Queen is one of the six "Large Theme Camp" Winners. There are also two other major camps that were allocated before a voting system was introduced, bringing the total to eight. These are large parcels of land... and each one has been tackled differently.

If you want to see how Daaneth Kivioq won me over I recommend just teleporting over to the build here:

Daaneth has put together quite a camp here... if you can truly call it a camp. It's more of an experience.. truly it is. Centered around the Ice Queen of the build's name it is split into four quadrants surrounded by a castle wall. Each of the quarters has a specific feel.

There is a section of magical woodland, with a campfire and lots of snow covered greenery. I liked the ambience of this, I am a sucker for virtual habitats. As I stood there watching, something caught my eye as it moved through the bushes... I walked over just to see a mysterious lady passing dissappearing into the undergrowth.

If I had caught her up I might asked this princess some questions... but she disappeared quickly like an apparition. I don't know who she was but it felt like something from a fairytale story.

Slightly mystified I made my way back out of the woods to the Queen's sculpture.

From here I walked into the great hall... where I know some events have been going on. It's great that parties and gatherings have been happening. I unfortuantely can't make it to every one, so I try to listen to what other have experienced.

While looking around I bumped into Born Rosca again, one of the Burning Life Greeters. She was twirling some fire sticks which at least added a little warmth to the chilly surroundings.

Born Rosca Demonstrates her fire dancing skills.

From the event hall I somehow made my way up to the castle battlements, a place where you can get a great view of much of the build. There is an ice rink, formal garden and even a snowballing area. Free skates and snowball throwers are provided too.

Oh and there's one thing I forgot to mention, the sound of sleigh bells, which fill the air where ever you go. Yes folks it's almost October and the Christmas Season will soon be upon us, and maybe that is the reason this build seems to resonate. It has a little bit of that Yuletide Magic in it.

Daaneth told me, that after the positive feedback he's received about the build, it will be living on after the festival in a new home on the "Southern Colorado" Sim (which should go live in a couple of weeks). I heartily recommend catching the build this weekend and experiencing it for yourself.

I am not sure how it can be SIZZLE when it's SO icy.... but it does. Thanks for building this for us Daaneth, it's a well deserved SIZZLE for 2007.
